Bunney to Northampton?

Online reports have suggested that Dale have agreed a fee with Northampton Town for the sale of Joe Bunney.

There were reports last week saying that Northampton had put a bid in for him but that it had been rejected by Dale. However, today's stories suggest that a fee has been agreed between the two clubs.

Bunney has had something of a inconsistent time at Spotland. He made his debut in spectacular style with a goal with his very first touch in Professional football when he scored against Plymouth on his debut. However, he struggled to establish himself as a forward, and it was the switch to left back which really saw him establish himself.

As left back, he was touted by Dale boss Keith Hill has one of the best left backs in the division and he was pivotal to our success last season, and it was arguably only an injury sustained at Walsall which stopped him winning the Player of the Season award, such was the improvement in his game.

If the deal goes through, it will see Bunney move to the home of one of his most memorable performances for Dale - for all the wrong reasons. He came on as a sub in our FA Cup fixture with Northampton and suffered the indignity of being subbed off again ten minutes later.
