The familiar figure of Andy Haines will referee Saturday’s home game versus Portsmouth.

On Saturday, Mr Haines will be taking take charge of his 28th Dale match and the 26th at Spotland, which we suspect is probably a record.

This is his third Dale appointment of the season, as he refereed our 3-2 loss at Shrewsbury in August, followed by the 1-1 home draw with Walsall just before Christmas.

However, Mr Haines’ most notable Dale game came on 17th April 2010 when we clinched promotion from League Two with a 1-0 victory over Northampton.
