Refwatch: Dale v Scunthorpe
Thursday, 21st Mar 2019 20:44 by TVOS

Experienced EFL referee Eddie Ilderton is the man in the middle when Dale entertain Scunthorpe on Saturday.

Mr Ilderton is in 17th season as a league referee and this will be his 25th appointment at a Rochdale match.

That long list started at Spotland on the opening day of the 2002/03 campaign when Eddie refereed his first Football League game as Dale recorded a 1-0 win over Leyton Orient.

Just four months earlier he was one of the assistant referees when we lost at home to Rushden & Diamonds in the play-offs.

We last saw Mr Ilderton just over a year ago when he took charge of Dale’s 0-0 home draw with Southend.
