Refwatch: Gillingham v Dale
Friday, 29th Mar 2019 20:05 by TVOS

Alan Young will referee Dale for the second time in two months when we make the long trip to Gillingham on Saturday.

The Ely-based official, who is originally from Blackpool, is in his first season on the referees’ list and we most recently saw him at the end of January for Dale’s 2-1 loss at Barnsley.

In taking charge of that game, Alan joined the likes of William Burns, Keith Hill and Michael Oliver in a rather unique Dale-referee related list!

Alan’s first league appointment was Crewe v Morecambe in August and since then he has refereed entirely in the two basement divisions, as well as several games in the FA Cup and Checkatrade Trophy.

Mr Young’s 30 matches have yielded 128 yellow cards and four red and his most recent fixture was Peterborough v Southend last Saturday.
