Gorkss haunts lifeless QPR again as winless run goes on — full match report
at 12:34:29

If I had a company and I gave my sales manager a quarterly target of £150,000 and he came in with £40,000 nice though he was I would sack him simply because If I kept him I would go out of business and its the same scenario at the club, an incompetent manager leading us into oblivion. Does Tony not realise we need to win 12 games just to stay up! Personally I cannot see any hope of winning more than one game before Christmas, we are not playing as a team who actually know what they are doing and the manager not winning away for a year is an utter disgrace whatever eloquent excuses he makes, we are all bored to death with excuses coming out of Loftus and its hard not to lose faith inTF' judgement I mean all the support raised in Asia must have dicipated they must have been embarrased getting sucked into all the hype with JSP who has under Hughes turned out to be a lost sheep and as for Zamora it pains me to even write his name even Priskin tried harder. Its difficult for me to say but half of me was hoping Reading would get a late winner just to give more ammunition to get rid of Hughes and I have been goin down to Loftus Road for 52 years! All this stability nonsence doesn't wash we got promotion through total instabillity Briatore changed managers until he got the one to take us up now stability seems to be taking us down.

Very happy with whats going on but we have got to grab a top class striker ie; Dempsey! Huntelaar! Riiiicky Lambert! Two of these are getting on a bit but they know where the goal is, if Cisse gets injured or banned we are stuffed.

Three-sy does it for new look QPR as fans honour Ainsworth
at 00:38:12

I really enjoyed the evening, I dont agree with your description of Wycombes ground I think its a beautiful little ground surrounded by hills and it has much more comfortable seats than in the R block. It took me back to the sixties where lots of the grounds we went to were similar and full of atmosphere. I used stand on a grubby terrace on the South Africa Road in the early sixties with my Dad before I got a junior season ticket to the Ellerslie Road Stand in 1966 before moving to the brand new South Africa Road Stand in 1968 so I saw Loftus Road changing into many different faces and atmosopheres and if I were a W W fan I would be more than happy going to my little ground. Clive it seems to me that you are grudgingly behind the rise of our club you seem patronising towards our new found proffessionalism under Mark Hughes Philip Beard and Tony Fernandes it is what we need after the farcical way the club was handled in the last few years I think they are going about things very well and to a high standard, yes I am a nostalgist as well and remember all of our good and bad times so if we want to see the Rs challenge for honours then lets embrace it all, on the pitch its interesting what is happening Hughes is obviously determined to change the way we play with high energy players all over the middle of the pitch: SWP, although still playing like a twelve year old at times has an incredible engine and I think Hughes still has a role for him, Park looks totally in control, Fabio really impressed me the way that he got around the pitch and when you think that Diakite, Faurlin and Hoillett are to come in we are going to be buzzing around all over the last two thirds of the pitch. There is obviously going to be rotation to a fair degree which when you think of the strong squad we are ammassing is a good thing, I am excited and if we can manage to bring in Samba, Defoe and possibly Bellamy I think that everybody is going to have to stand up and take notice of us. Good luck to Kieron Dyer I hope he comes through his fitness trouble because he is obviously still a quality player. So we have an abundance of midfield players but like you Clive I am not a fan of Zamora unless he turns me round by actually putting some effort in, yes he can hold the ball up but we are going to be playing high tempo football and he will have to roll his sleeves up if he is going to be a permanent item, Cisse needs to be fed he is hungry for goals but he will be in and out of the team so we need another sharpshooter like a Defoe or even Michael Owen would be good, so thats the middle and the front sorted now for the back Im afraid to say its a bit of a glass jaw, Hill, Ferdinand and Onuoha dont fill me with confidence and dont spell clean sheets, until we get a solid central defender and a strong right back then we are going to have to start scoring plenty of goals and watching Ryan Nelsen tonight doesnt strike me as quite what we need, still MH has got it all in mind I am sure so roll on the 18th and come on you Rrsss!

Our captain, the ‘gobby Scouse git’ — guest column
at 12:54:03

Well Mel, for your description of Jamie Mackie you get Half Wit status from me. You have picked on the one player that the team should be built around, he has everything that Barton hasn't, the one player who really cares about the club he plays for and gives everything. He has spent a large part of this season being harranged by Barton, usually when Barton has misplaced yet another pass and Mackie has dared to moan about it, but Mackie has the inner and outer strength to put up with such a deluded character as Barton. A captain what a joke he puts players on edge rather than encourage them and yet he hasn't got the talent to lead by example because he hasnt got it in his locker, just as he hasnt any real meaning or sense in the garbage he spouts on twitter at times, there is no depth to Barton he continually strives to be someone he is not, he has certainly sucked you into his little webb of dellusion Mel, he is bad for QPR, we keep reading about him instead of the genuine players, its just irritating rather like he is. I would rather read about Jamie Mackies superb header at Man City ( just one of his tricks Mel ) than a silly silly man where one of his excuses were ' I thought we were relegated ' mmm at 1-1 really! I dont think Mark Hughes will want him around the club next season although I don't think he will have any choice, no one is going to want Barton when he cannot play for a quarter of the season, still it gives Hughes the chance to establish a mid field and soon it will be January. What is Joey Barton worth to QPR...........nothing, what is Jamie Mackie worth to QPR.........everything!

I dont want Joey Barton anywhere near the club I dont want him anywhere near twitter I dont want him anywhere near this country I dont want to hear about or read about Joey Barton ever again I hope the board can either sack him or thrash out a deal to get rid of a man with a chip on his shoulder bigger than Big Ben, the team would be greatly lifted by the absence of an average player who harrassed his own teamates rather than encouraged them and for a so called intellect doesnt seem to know the meaning of the word ' Responsibility '

Every club carries a few idiots and occasionally its nice to have a bit of a cull and thats down to the club. Ian Wright who I loved as a player has opened his gob without really thinking things through especially as Saun has probably been our biggest disappointment this season, its not not exactly going to give him the boost needed for the run in and to be honest he has played ten games more than he should have been allowed and Hughes is showing us all that he is nowhere near getting the measure of the team and that has been the most surprising thing to me. We have quite frankly gone backwards since he took over and we havent got the time to for him to find his feet. If I was Gipsy Rose Lee I would see that in my 'crystal ball' Leeds United replacing us in May an irony indeed! While I am tapping this out I am watching my favourite Premiership player of all time Steven Gerrard playing against Everton and just wishing he tweeks his dodgy hamstring, although to be honest I would love to see him down at Loftus Road and I for one would stand up and applaud him if he came over to take a corner by the R block, I just wish that our players would play a DVD of Stevie G's finest moments before they go to bed every night to see what its like to be a player who only has one thing on his mind when he steps on the pitch and that is giving his all for his club, for only thinking about his club, his fans and nothing else, he is the ultimate pro a magnificent specimen of what a footballer should be like and just as I speak he has curled one in, pure class and to me it looks like he is carrying an injury as well, what a hero! Gerry Francis was probably the nearest to Stevie G and Tony Currie was also similar and thats what we lack a leader to drag the team through a battle and come out on top, Barton was supposed to do that and he is as far away from Gerrard as I am Bill Gates. But we have to hope that one or two of our players click at the right time, we still have hope at least. Oh dear Stevie Gee is limping off at half time, I have mixed feelings about that, but supporting the Rs for fifty one years I hope not to see him next Wednesday.

Memories of Dave Thomas and 1987 as QPR face Everton — history
at 12:15:29

I've been watching QPR for 51 years and the best performance bar none was when we beat Everton at home 5 - 0 in 1976 we could have won 20 -0 we were so incredibly good Gerry Francis had his finest game for the Rs and to watch the pace and the skill of the players going flat out was breathtaking. The players were so in tune with each other they didn't have to look up for a pass it was sheer magic the likes of will never be seen again at least not in my lifetime, players played for the sheer enjoyment of playing football not like players of today who just think of what new toys their wages can buy them. Stan Bowles loved playing football, liked having a good time on the pitch and off it, he would always mix with fans around the Bush or Chiswick and Brentford you could always have a drink with him and a good chat, characters like Stanley are non existant now and that is very sad, they were halcion days long gone and now we watch overpayed players with a lack of the same talent and human touch and frankly I dont get the same excitement I used to as when watching the teams we had in the late sixties seventies and even the eighties, but then again I am a grumpy old nostalgist who just wished that the young Rangers fans could have experienced those times, never mind, the closest player we have to the good old days is Adel Taarabt but the funny thing is that in the seventies most teams had two or three ball players in their teams and fans used to travel to watch different teams play just to watch players like Best, Worthington, Charlie Cooke, Jimmy Greaves and the like, it was wonderful and we should treasure and encourage players like Taarabt who plays football like it should be played with adventure and skill, he can't help it if other players aren't good enough to be on his wavelength, I just think that Cisse will be and understands how he plays and that might just save us from the drop, here's hoping!

Fernandes here for the long haul, weekend tube closures — Wednesday Diary
at 11:09:50

Hopefully we can beat Everton on Saturday, somehow, I think that what Tommy Smith said has some foundation and in hindsight we could say that getting rid of Neil Warnock was a kneejerk reaction. However we seem to have a group of players that lack the intelligence you need to survive in this league. Saturday lacked cohesion and team spirit, sitting where I do in R block watching Jamie Mackie run towards the box with his captain behind him Mackie with three defenders in front of him obviously wanted Barton to make a run outside which he didnt, so Mackie had to keep going and made a poor attempt to beat the defenders because of his poor ball control and got a bit of stick from the numbskulls in the crowd and he turned to Barton, who made his run too late, to tell him where he wanted him and Barton surprise surprise told him to do one. I personally think that the root of the teams problems lie at the feet of Barton. Neil Warnocks biggest mistake which cost him his job was signing this egotistical irritant, totally the wrong player to make captain and you get the feeling is not well liked by the players and the fans. We can all see he has some talent however he is not leading the team by example because in truth he hasnt been very good, so if he berates players like he did Taarabt on Saturday, Taarabt will just think to himself 'he gives the ball away more than any other player who is he to tell me what to do' quite rightly. Last season Warnock made Taarabt captain and the players respected him purely because he led by example by winning matches for us, something that Barton refuses to try to do. Unfortunately we are stuck with him and its up to Hughes to work it out for himself. On Saturday all the players lacked faith in themselves and in each other and thats when you need a leader to bring them all together, but we havent got one and maybe if Hughes made Zamora captain it could have the same impact it had for Taarabt last season, because on Saturday Zamora looked like a lost sheep who realised he was in the wrong flock.

‘Astounded’ Hughes takes beleaguered team abroad — Tuesday diary
at 20:31:15

To me Bartons lackadaisical way of playing seems to slow the pattern of play too much, obviously gifted he seems to play too deep and gets caught too often by more eagre opposition, at Newcastle he played more often in the final third of the pitch and was more aggressive, he possibly wrongly thinks he is the Big Fish in a small pond he couldnt be more wrong, he has dellusions of grandure and I would bring him down to earth by letting him warm the bench for a couple of matches and hand over the armband to Jamie Mackie a player who would die for the club and on considerably smaller wages than Barton. Play Jamie up front with Zamora and Taarabt just behind them and I am sure we can prosper. SWP worries me and his lack of success in beating people and wrong choices must deflate the rest of the team, maybe he needs a rest. Looking forward to seeing Diakite and praying he is better than Taiwo and Onuoha.

Athleticism, power, strength — Hughes lays cards on the table
at 10:56:22

I think that Zamora, provided he avoids injuries that he has picked up regularly is a perfect player for us he can do pretty much everything and can dominate games, Cisse will be a fans favourite, he is a character and can play as well and I am looking forward to seeing the blond moustache in a hoops shirt. The other players are an unknown qauntity to most fans so we are ready to be impressed. Macheda unfotunately has been a startling failure and you could say follows in the same vein as our previous Italian players. One can only hope that he can improve but I can't see it and cannot believe he played for Man Utd, its never nice criticising your own players and I feel for him but I am afraid he wont feature much. As far as Monsieur Taarabt returning to the fray, I am excited I think the players we have bought will raise his level and there is no way on this earth he will be allowed to throw a strop with Mark Hughes staring at him. I think that Adel will step up all round and score goals maybe even the odd header and tackle? I am certain that having french speaking players and with a higher quality around him we might, just might, see him turn into a top Premiership player and thats a very exciting prospect. I think that keeping Mackie, Derry, Helguson, Buzsaky and Smith is great, they may not be top class but they give everything and they are in our hearts which means that when they come on as subs we know they will do everything they can for the club and turn out to be good squad players. I don' t expect us to win tonight and hope for a point but cannot wait for Saturday.

Enough words, Wigan game is a time for action — full match preview
at 22:21:40

Barton is just a never ending circle of hypocrisy, he clearly is immature and trying to be grown up through twitter but making himself look an absolute and overwhelming fool, I thought that when his son was born something might actually click in his thick skull, but no, disrespecting Neil Warnock was to easy for his hoody mentality and just as cowardly as Warnock claimed he was sacked. There is a lack of dignity from both parties, Neil Warnock should have accepted the fact that he had become a legend to the fans for what he did for us which we will never forget. Barton should have been grateful to Warnock for bringing him to the club and making him captain and that in turn was a decision that ultimately cost our beloved his job. I think Hughes wont tolerate Bartons futile rant and he is probably hell bent on trying to bring Samba in as captain and Barton will dig his own grave. Clive your cynasism towards the board angers me, what do you expect, a Frazer adage from Dads Army ' were doomed ' they are obviously trying to bring in quality that is required at this level and I think that Mark Hughes has enough respect as a player and coach to bring those players in, so give them all a chance before you jump to conclusions. We should win tomorrow but then the team is the same and we will have a clue tomorrow whether they can be lifted enough to play well and the fans have a big part to play in helping them achieve three points. If I was managing the team tomorrow I would play Mackie alongside Helguson and see what happens, Io think he can score goals up front his workrate and courage is undeniable and I think Hughes acknowledges that, Bothroyd tends to drop too deep anyway so if Barton can get in the hole it might work.

QPR aggrieved by Norwich’s lesson in dark arts — full match report
at 13:04:26

Yes we were naive to the obvious provocationary tactics that Lambert planned, but we should be better than that its park football stuff and we have got to remember we are in the Prem and have a bit more savvy. What really concerns me is that our players obviously do not feel comfortable with the system that NW seems to be shoving them into, Norwich knew how they were going to go about things and we like little lambs werent sure. Ok we score and nice to see for a change one banged in, which is what I expected from Barton from the start of the season and have been waiting too long, then because of our formation we just sit back and let them play instead of going for the kill 451 is cobblers we dont get any players in the box have to rely on wild swings at goal from desperation, there is no composure to our play we get sucked too deep and rely on a quick break fom SWP who just lacks confidence to get in the box first then hit it, cross the ball to who? We have to go 433 or 442 and start to pepper the oppositions goal you might say too bold but we are losing games playing a wretched system that just brings teams on to us and we are not really looking like troubling them, I dont believe that we havent got the right players I just dont believe that we are playing the right system to trouble the rest of the prem and that sits firmly in the bosses corner, its all getting a bit frusrrating.

I want to see Joey playing much further up the field tonight he showed on Sunday he cannot play that deep and behind Faurlin, Faurlin is a grafter but doesnt provide that killer pass, Barton was most effective at Newcastle in the third quarter of the pitch and for Rangers he needs to do all his work there, he has the talent, I am hoping Adel plays tonight because he looked hungry and when hes in that mood can beat teams on his own, at the start of the season he struggled because he was playing a restricted role on the left of midfield and I think that was probably because he felt he had to pass to Joey Barton all the time, you cannot restrict AT he has to go and do his thing and if it doesnt come off Joey Barton as a captain needs to encourage him and not berate, I am still waiting for Barton to lead our team properly with more encouragement and more swashbuckling performances. It can go either way tonight and we must get back to fighting for each other ie ManCity game, a goal for Jamie, SWP, Campbell or Adel will boost their confidence and we could really take off, heres hoping.

Gone in 60 seconds, United teach QPR harsh lessons — full match report
at 13:12:30

I dont boo our players never have and never will but will let players know if they are not pulling their weight. When Jay Bothroyd donned a pair of Barcelona boots at Anfield I thought you silly boy you have to at least show us that you can play first its obvious his ego is telling him that he is rather better than we think the only problem is that Cocco the Clown also wore identical boots in the circus and I think in his case he is nearer to the circus than Barcelona so if I were him I would get my old black boots on and try harder.
