If I recall correctly we were looking at closer to £6million in the summer so £4.5million is a good buy. Spread over five years, which is now the maximum for amortisation calculations, assuming we have agreed this length of contract adds £900k to the debit column on the balance sheet. With the players we have signed in the last six months, such as Kone, Burrell, Saito, Poku and even potentially Mbengue, coupled with the younger players such as Morgan and Kolli we only need one of these players to fetch big money and all costs are covered.
Have seen on the Beeb that Dieng is negotiating a release from Middlesbrough and could be signing for Hull. And yet we extend Hamer’s contract to the summer. Would have loved to see Seny back. best keeper since Alex Smithies.
I think there is something about Bennie that will see him succeed. Certainly has built up his strength and is more than happy to put a boot in where it hurts, also it seems that he knows where the back of the net is.
Thought that racist scumbag Fernandez was lucky to stay on the pitch after getting in the refs face after the sending off. Hopefully the lengthy contracts they created for this laughable bunch of filth will see them eventually caught up in the FFP or whatever the PL now call it. They’ve cheated twice to avoid financial sanctions through ‘selling’ their hotels and women’s team and it seems that the PL are reluctant to sanction them over the financial cheating by the Russian war criminal.
Still pop over to their forum and see how pleased they are with the appointment of Hull City’s second best manager in the last five years!
Turkey here, roasted some gammon last night. All the trimmings plus my world famous roast potatoes that can cut diamonds.
My dear departed Mum used to make Xmas puddings all round. Was the start of advent family event and we used to come home from school in December to be welcomed by the latest round of steaming. I now resort to a pudding bought from Borough Market, complete with sixpence!
Maybe they have been screwed over because of the socialist policies of the current cretinous chancellor who with her boss is more interested in saving their own skins rather than putting the country first.
We relaid the pitch in the summer of 24, invested in new drainage system.10% of the grass is artificial so there is only one reason why the pitch is failing to pieces…… a marauding Mbengue after half time!
If possible use the A3 to get down. I’ve been sharing my time between MK and the Fareham area for much of the last couple of years now and the motorways have been a real nightmare. First there was M3 widening from the A34 junction to the M27 junction on the M3. Once this was completed they decided to overlay the existing concrete surface between junctions 5 and 7 on the M27 which is now near completion and now thus is finished they are rebuilding the A34/M3 junction.
Last home game of the 2000/01 season against Stockport. We were down and all but seven players were out of contract. Peter Crouch won every award going and it was obvious that nobody wanted to play in that match other than Crouchy. Lost 3-0 and we were lucky to get nil that day. That was the day for me that the club had hit rock bottom.
Left on 90 minutes when two down at home against Brentford a few years back. Was walking ain’t Blomfontein when I heard Pigbag strike up and a couple walked passed me saying ‘well that’s one at least!’ I looked at my phone to see who scored and couldn’t believe that was in fact the equaliser! I can only imagine that the guy in charge of pressing the Pigbag button couldn’t be arsèd after the first goal.
Best thing though is that Liverpool are starting to implode. After spending nigh on half a billion obscene pounds on a few players and unsettling Isak to the extent that he all but went on strike it is a pleasure to watch them lose or struggle to beat promoted teams.
Just had a look on the BBC website for top scorers in the Championship. Currently Burrell is tied fourth but what really is impressive is his shot conversion rate at 32% (2nd) and his shot accuracy at 64% (1st).
We were sold Bazball on the basis that we would win back the Ashes. First 18 months it was fun but then other teams started to suss us out. No plan B. Batsmen looking foolish getting out with awful shots (Brook the master of stupidity there). Bowlers encouraged to continually bowl short which I suspect adds to their injury woes. We have a master bowling in this test pitching the ball up and although aided by more awful shot choices is hoovering up wickets for fun. And yet we still bang the ball in short. In the last couple of years we have lost series away to Pakistan and India, it looks like we will be hammered here. We failed to win our home series against Oz and India and even lost a home test against Sri Lanka who themselves were undercooked in the first test. McCullum has failed miserably and should fall on his sword at the end of this series. And whoever is responsible for the preparation for this series should go as well. I get that the England team didn’t fancy playing second XI state sides but to be fair, any amount of cricket in their legs is better than none. Alternatively they could have organised a short provincial tour of South Africa where pitches are similar to Australia. Instead they just rock up after a short one day tour of NZ where some of that team weren’t even part of the Ashes squad. Sheer arrogance.
