Smith’s dismissal was appalling to a parttime bowler.
He and Brook just seem to have this self destruct button.
The defining moment of this series may well have been Head’s switch to opener before Australia’s second innings in Perth.
For all the preseries hype the overall standard hasn’t impressed especially where England’s erratic bowling is concerned.

I heard that the decision to use Accrington was made as they were the only option that could stage both games rather than using two different venues in the space of five days.

Dale were playing really well at the time and it was a humdinger of a game as you say.
By the time the match was rearranged they had gone completely off the boil.
Does anyone else remember a game at Valley Parade being abandoned at halftime because of fog around the same time? Perhaps the season after?
The fog rolled in during the first half and you couldn’t see a thing.
It took the Ellen Smith’s coach about three hours to get home over Blackstone Edge - the M62 hadn’t been built then.
Think Dale went back and won 3-0 on a Wednesday night when it was rearranged.

Number 7 bus from Accrington bus station goes past the stadium.
An alternative to the 464 is the train from Rochdale via Todmorden which was mentioned previously on another thread (by TVOS?).
