Goodhind was recently voted as one of our worst right backs in the history of the club, and its difficult to point to any positives to his time with Dale, other than it is finally over. Signed on a free transfer following Cambridge's relegation from the Football League, he came with a decent reputation. Indeed, the Cambridge supporters were so taken with Goodhind that they became his kit sponsor not long after he had signed for Dale. However, it soon appeared that this was nothing more than a cruel joke at Dale's expense in the same way that we may sponsor Boardman at some future club of his, as Goodhind proved to be disastrous. It was debatable whether we had more injuries or mistakes from Goodhind, but the fact that he made no more than ten appearances for the club speaks volumes. On a reputed very large wage for a club of our stature and finances, he will have to go down as one of the worst value for money signings in the club's history. The one positive you could say about him is that when he looks back on his career, we were probably the only team that he has played for who have not been relegated from the Football League with him at the club. Small mercies.
