Lee Barnard Faces Five Month Wait !
Lee Barnard arrived at court in Salisbury to find out his trial for assault has been postponed.
The Saints striker's lawyers had requested that the trial be moved out of Southampton as they felt their client would not get a fair trial in the city, however this backfired when the court at Salisbury was unable to proceed due to another trial taking place in the only courtroom currently in use at the Crown court's, with no other courts available this week in an area as far away as Bristol & Dorchester, Barnard was told that the earliest it could be rescheduled at Salisbury would be March.
However Court officials will in the meantime endeavor to find a gap in the schedules somewhere, this isnt uncommon as court cases are often dropped etc, so the chances are that Barnard, who has already waited over a year since the offence took place, might get to trial sooner although this cannot be guaranteed.
