Tuesday's results see Dale go fourth
Contrasting results from the midweek games saw Gillingham overtake Dale into the automatic promotion places, but other results went our way.
The biggest result in our favour was certainly Bradford's 4-1 hammering at the hands of Bournemouth. On a night where their manager Stuart McCall offered to resign if they finished outside of the top seven, they saw themselves remain in 8th place after a run which has seen them lose five away wins on the spin.
As far as Dale are concerned, we remain three points clear of eighth placed Bradford with a game in hand on our Yorkshire rivals.
Gillingham's win over Notts County was the result which cost us as much as anything. That win saw the Gills leapfrog Dale into the top three, leaving them three points above Dale. However, we still have a game in hand over the Kent side that we play next Wednesday evening at Chesterfield.
Leaders Brentford suffered a shock defeat. It might only be an outside chance that we can catch the Bees, but at this stage of the season, anything can happen. They lost at home to Chesterfield, who themselves will suddenly be looking on the Play Offs as a real possibility.
