Dog-Gone!
Clayton switches to Dog Botherers in half million pound switch.
Adam Clayton has sealed his switch to Huddersfield.
The 23 year old has moved over to West Yorkshires poor relations in a deal worth £500,000.
Former Man City trainee Clayton, who has been signed for a second time by Simon Grayson, indicated at the end of last season he would not be interested in signing a new contract at Elland Road and with just a season remaining on his deal Leeds have cashed in.
Having such a high opinion of himself, I honestly thought Clayton would have set his sights higher than a side who scraped through the play-off final on penalties.
When on top of his game, Clayton is a hard-working, all action midfielder with an eye for goal however he does have a tendency to drift out of games and at times last season I forgot he was on the pitch.
Still, he is still young and will probably develop into a good Championship player given time.
Hopefully the money raised will give Warnock some much needed transfer- booty due to the protracted take-over.
The latest name in Neil's frame is DJ Campbell, who he signed a year ago for QPR.
Meanwhile Bolton have failed in their bid to sign Andy Lonergan, Leeds believed to have rejected a bid well short of their valuation of the former Preston keeper.
