Players Back At Weymouth
Saints put out a strong reserve team at Weymouth.
The outing to Weymouth saw the return of both Marek Saganowski and Jonh Viafara as well as Rudi Skacel.
In the case of the latter two it seems very much that they are being played to keep fit and that they wont be at the club come the start of the season.
They were also joined by first team squad members Jason Euell, Wayne Thomas and Paul Wotton in what was a strong line up.
This didnt help them in the early stages though and after Viafara playing in the centre of defence had conceded a penalty that was duly despatched on 9 minutes they quickly conceded another meaning that with 11 minutes on the clock they were two goals behind.
But it didnt take them long to get back on level terms and completely turn the game on its head, Jake Thomson pulled a goal back unluckily for Weymouth in the 13 minutes followed by a Jason Euell equaliser in the 20th minute and with five minutes left before the break, Saints completed a remarkable turnaround when Thomson got his second to sent Saints in at the break in front.
The second half could never live up to the first as Saints seemed content to get their passing game going, however Jan Poortvliet will see it as another good workout to integrate youth with experience as the more serious business gets nearer.
