The Final Touches For Charlton

The Swans bring the curtain down on their pre-season friendlies tonight when Den Haag arrive at the Liberty

Pre-season seems to have flown by.  A week in Sweden, a week in Wales, a week in Spain and another week back home and it has flown by and now we are within four days of our return to Championship football - at long last.

And that pre-season will end this evening when the Liberty hosts it's second match in four days against our friends from Den Haag who will be backed by around 200 of their support.

This could be a strange one with many reports suggesting that Roberto won't risk too much pressure on his starting line up for Saturday but at the same time he will want to give them one more run out before the season starts in earnest.

Don't expect I would guess to see the tackles flying in as neither manager will want to see any injuries for his players .

However, what this game could give is one last chance for those looking set to miss out on Charlton a chance to shine.   I am sure - despite his best protests otherwise - that Roberto has his starting line up set in his mind and this is one final chance for those who can to try and change his mind.

It is therefore likely that we may see prolonged performances from the likes of Febian Brandy, Owain Tudur Jones, Andrea Orlandi, Alan Tate - all tipped to be on the bench at best for the Valley this weekend.

Around 5000 are expected at the Liberty for the game with tickets available on the night for purchase for anyone who hasn't yet got one but wants to attend and the wonderfully named "Ticket pods" will be available for sales of tickets and peas before the game.

This is the last chance for some fun before the serious stuff starts.
