Sinclair Delighted With England Call
Scott Sinclair was a naturally happy man after being called up by his country
Sinclair's fantastic form for the Swans this season was finally rewarded when he received his Under-21 call this week and he could play against Germany on Tuesday.
Sinclair has scored 11 goals since a move from Stamford Bridge in the summer and that was enough to persuade Stuart Pearce to make the call to the Liberty Stadium.
“I’m very happy. It’s really nice to get a call-up for the way I am playing and hopefully I can keep producing,” Sinclair told the Western Mail
“I’ve kept my head down and kept working as hard as I can.
“The manager believes in me and I am playing week in, week out so I am delighted to finally get the call-up.
“This is my first time with the U21s, so it will be a different experience, a different challenge.
“Hopefully I can go in there and perform.
“Any game for England is a great honour and I am looking forward to it."
Brendan Rodgers was equally delighted for Sinclair and he added “He’s done very well and it will be a great boost to his confidence.
“His performances have warranted a place as one of the top English players at U21 level.
“There’s some terrific players at that level. He will be training alongside some really good players.
“It’s a great reward for him and the football club as a whole and something he really wanted to get.
“It’s a wonderful achievement for him and I am delighted.”
