Barraclough: Our Best Result Of The Season
Ian Barraclough was under no illusions as to the significance of the result at Glanford Park
The Scunthorpe Manager told their official website "It was possibly our best victory of the season,
"I admit it wasn't our best performance but we'd set out a game plan before the game and stuck to it.
"I know it might have been frustrating for our supporters, but Swansea have a lot of possession against everybody and tend to cut everybody to ribbons.
"I remember one chance where Josh Lillis had to pull us out in the first half during a one on one.
"The ball bobbled around the box at times, they had long range strikes and maybe could have been better with their finishing but they didn't cut us open like they did other teams.
"It was achieved because the lads carried off their game plan to a tee.
"We were rigid and, yes, we did allow them possession at times but then in the critical areas we closed them down.
"If we'd have gone gung-ho, or gone with two wingers, they would have had so much space in midfield and that was the thinking behind going with four central midfielders across the park.
"Our passing could have been better and the quality could have also been a lot better when we were in possession in the first half.
"In the second half I felt we could have been a little bit better in using our front men and giving them something to work from, as in playing it to their feet and chest.
"As a result we had more possession and punished them."
