Do we blame it on the owners or the parents?

The latest saga involving the ownership of LUFC reminds me so much of my childhood. Meanwhile there were rumours the club will be sold to a consortium headed up by Steve Parkin of Clipper Logistics fame and Middle Eastern backers.

No doubt like you dear reader, as a child I did many thanks opposite to my parents wishes and warnings. Yesterday's abrupt statement by GFHC (the errant child of GFH) that they seek strategic invest rather than full sale as per their parent companies statement has muddied the murky waters even more rather than provide clarity.

Maybe Messers Haigh and Patel got overly carried away and lived the dream? Maybe back at HQ the bean-counters saw a golden opportunity to make a fast buck rarher than endure the hassles of running a football club on a day-to-day basis. As someone said on twitter, Leeds smacks of someone buying a run down house from an old man, giving it a lick of paint and putting it back on the market for a hefty profit a bit like that unbearably smug, perpetually annoying Sarah Beeny woman does on the television?

Parkin apparently considered buying Leeds in 2004 and maybe he has been one of the many rumoured investors who backed-away from working with Bates or trying to buy him out? I have said it before, I will say it again GFHC deserve much credit for unravelling the complex web of Leeds ownership under Bates and freeing us up from the trauma of his reign.

Unfortunately yesterday's "oh no we are not..." Statement will only create further confusion and anxiety that we will spend a successive summer hamstrung by events off the park.

We can only wait and see, as Leeds celeb fan and actor Ralph Ineson tweeted welcome to TOMA2.
