Saints Identify New Transfer Mastermind
After the departure of Paul Mitchell to Tottenham Hotspur, Saints have been looking to get in the right man to replace him and now they are looking to make that appointment
Saints are apparently about to swoop on Huddersfield Town and attempt to prise away their head of football operations Ross Wilson.
Wilson has been t the Yorkshire club for a year and has earned a reputation or identifying players and getting them in at the right price,
He has previously worked at Watford and Falkirk and at Huddersfield he is on the board and is the link between the Executives on the board and the playing staff.
Stumbling block could be that at Huddersfield Wilson occupy a roll similar to Les Reed at Saints and whereas the job at Huddersfield encompasses all the areas, at Saints that roll was shared between Reed and Mitchell over the past few yeas with Mitchell only responsible for player acquisition and not overseeing all the footballing areas as Reed is at Saints and Wilson is at Huddersfield.
Certainly Wilson is well regarded at Huddersfield and has also attracted interest from West Bromwich for his talents, on the face of it to join Saints will be a step down in job title but the plus side will b at a Premier League club with the opportunity to increase his responsibilities over a period of time
