Quotes From Ronald Koeman's Pre Hull City Press Conference.

A few quotes from the maestro himself from his press conference at St Mary's today ahead of the visit of Hull City.

First Ron started with a comment on Saints goalscoring or lack of it lately.

"The difference is that we don't get the space we got at the beginning [of the season]."

Next he commented on Saints Champions League hopes.

"You have to be realistic. Our focus, at the moment, has to be on fifth, sixth and seventh."

Fraser Forster was the next topic of conversation.

"Fraser has been back at the training ground this week after his recent knee operation. He has contact with the players and is involved with what we're doing here at the training centre."

"We are assessing whether we will need to recruit a new goalkeeper during Forster's absence."

Next up was news about Saturday's game against Hull City.

"Steven Davis and Florin Gardos will return to the squad after missing last weekend's trip to Everton, but Filip Djuričić has picked up an ankle injury and will not be available against Hull."

"You have to look at yourself and to do your best,” Koeman told Southampton’s official YouTube channel. "You have to have the ambition, spirit and quality.

"We have a little bit more difficulty in creating enough chances to score and we have to work on that.

"Now the situation at the moment is that we are fighting for fifth, sixth and seventh position in the table and that’s still very good.

"We have a home game now and if you want to finish up in the table you have to win games like this.

"We need to have patience and we need to bring more quality in front. That’s a little bit more difficult than in the beginning.

"Then it’s all about the performance, but we know and the experience now is that we know how teams will play. We have to handle that in a better way.”
