Gaston Ramirez season has been ended with a hamstring injury at Hull City, but where does he go from here in terms of his career ?
Gaston Ramirez will be returning from Humberside to Southampton with Hull City feeling that they never really got any value from his loan spell, indeed in the last couple of months of the season as Hull slipped towards the relegation zone, Ramirez has only managed 50 minutes of action as he struggled with this recurrent hamstring problem.
However Ramirez has never really impressed at the Tigers and has started only 11 league games and if he wasn't available through injury then he was not exactly first name on the team sheet either.
The local paper in Hull is reporting that it is unlikely that Hull City will be making an offer for Ramirez despite Saints being open for offers, a £70k a week wage plus Saints looking to recoup as much as the £12 million paid for the Uruguayan as they can it is unlikely that many sides in the Premier league would be willing to risk signing the injury prone Ramirez.
So it looks like next season, the last in his Saints contract will see Saints trying to offload him again on loan and as they have for his spell at Hull, having to pay a sizeable chunk of his wages themselves to make such a move affordable and attractive to any prospective clubto loan him.
Of course with only a year left the player himself might opt for a pay cut and a permanent move in order to try and kick start his career, yet another injury has seen him dropped from Uruguay's squad for this summer's Copa America and although there are rumours that the likes of Inter Milan are interested in signing him, the reality for both Saints and the player is that these are more than likely rumours fuelled by his agent looking to try and engineer a move that would be both acceptable to the player and of course Saints.
