Northampton 0 QPR 1

QPR banished their Northampton hoodoo with a 1-0 pre-season win at the Sixfields Stadium on Wednesday.

Dexter Blackstock scored for the R’s midway through the first half and that was enough to seal the victory against Stuart Gray’s League One outfit.

Alberti down the right and Ledesma down the left were QPR’s star performers but the second half was disrupted by a large number of substitutions.

Iain Dowie told the club's official website: "I'm really pleased with how we played tonight. Northampton are a good side but we restricted them well and got the ball down and played some good, passing football. That's exactly what I asked the boys to do.

"I was delighted with the way Emmanuel Ledesma and Matteo Alberti played. Ledesma caused them a number of problems and he is a great crosser of the ball."

Tony Gibson was the LFW man at the match tonight and will be filing a match report later so watch this space.
