Juanmi Wants Away
Saints summer signing from Malaga wants a move back to Spain after the signing of Charlie Austin moves him further down the pecking order at St Mary's
Juanmi would prefer a return to Spain after the signing of Charlie Austin, when the issue of moving back to Spain arose in December when his old club Malaga expressed an interest in taking him back, he declined stating that he wanted to stay and fight for a place in the Saints Premier League side, however the arrival of Austin has perhaps made him think that now his chances of a first team place are even more limited.
So far his season in the Premier League has been limited to just substitute appearances off the bench and of those 10 some have been fairly short.
However he has shown that he has some skill when he has played and he is certainly a different type of option than any of the other strikers at Saints.
But he is a little lightweight and it has been a learning curve for him and a period of getting used to the more physical attributes of English football.
Now it seems that Real Sociedad are keen to bring him back to Spain and Juanmi and his agent have both revealed that Saints have been in talks with the Spanish club but so far no deal has been struck.
The issue seems to be that Saints would prefer to let Juanmi only leave on loan as they still have faith in the striker in the long term, but Juanmi and indeed Real Sociedad would prefer it to be permanent.
