Saints Now Guaranteed 11th (Almost) *
After Watford failed to win at Chelsea this evening, Saints are now guaranteed an 11th place finish barring a 12 goal turnaround between themselves and West Ham.
After Watford were finally overcome by Chelsea 4-3 this evening this means that Saints should now finish no lower than 11th that is assuming that they don't allow West Ham to overturn a 12 goal difference hence the * in the title.
This has meant that it has been a good weekend for Saints results wise with not only three points at Boro but most of the sides around them dropping points.
Suddenly the chance has opened up for them to secure as high as 8th, beating Manchester United would surely make a top ten finish nailed on with Bournemouth then needing to overcome at least a 7 goal gap and the stage would be set for a final day knowing a win would be enough to pip West Brom whatever happened elsewhere.
So the last few days of the season are completely in our own hands and how ironic is we should win both games and finally find the consistency we have lacked by winning three straight league games for the first time just as the season ends.
