Spurs Set To Make Saints Target Available.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly looking to sign a new central defender during the summer window, which is set to make Kevin Wimmer available for a move away from the North London club.
Southampton have been credited with holding an interest by the Daily Mirror, and could well be the perfect route out for the defender if Spurs do go ahead with their current transfer plans.
It’s indicated that ex Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino has plans to land either Alfie Mawson from Swansea or Ben Gibson from Middlesbrough, to bolster his defensive options further.
Saints have been touted with interest in Wimmer since last summer and with his future looking unlikely at Spurs, it would sense to see them make a move during this transfer window.
However, if Saints are to prize him away from North London this summer, they would need to cough up the £20m that Spurs are reported to value him at.
Whether Saints agree with that valuation given that Wimmer signed for Spurs two years ago for less than £5 million and in that time has managed only 13 Premier League starts for the club plus another 2 as sub, with only 4 of those starts coming last season is yet to be determined, given how much Spurs seem not to rate him, I find it hard to see how his value has quadrupled in that period.
