Harrison Reed Leaves St Mary's On Loan !
Arron Sanders looks at Harrison Reed's loan move to Norwich City and ponders whether it will enable him to come back to St Mary's and challenge for a first team place.
Saints midfielder Harrison Reed has joined Norwich City on a season-long loan deal, as announced by the club this afternoon.
Reed who is highly regarded amongst the clubs coaching staff, having come through the club's youth academy system making his debut aged just 17.
However, Reed has found himself down the pecking order at St. Mary's in recent seasons and his first-team chances have been limited.
The former England under-20 international made just three Premier League appearances last season after making 10 the previous year.
This coming season seems to suggest that his chances may be just as limited with Oriol Romeu, Steven Davis , Jordy Clasie, James Ward Prowse and Pierre Emile Hojbjerg all ahead of him in the pecking order in the centre of midfield.
New Southampton boss Mauricio Pellegrino is happy to send Reed out on loan so that he can get some regular football under his belt before returning to fight for his place in the Saints team next season.
Are you happy to see Harry Reed go out on Loan Saints fans, hopefully he gets the game time he needs to make the jump to the next level.
