Will Saints Have A New Third Kit For The Trip To Bournemouth ?
Last season both of Saints kits clashed with Bournemouth's meaning we produced a third kit to wear, will that be the case again this season.
Saints two kits from last season both clashed with the Cherries red & black stripes and it seems that could be the case again this weekend with our home kit's predominately red clashing and also the away kits green (!) & black stripes.
As you can see from the pictures above both will clash with the home side, although a few years ago before the commercialisation of football perhaps either would have been used.
A year ago Saints produced a white third kit for the trip across the New Forest and that also had an outing at Wembley in the League Cup final, but the question now is will Saints use that kit again or will they bring out a new design and colourway to visit Bournemouth ?
Personally I would like to see the club use a little imagination here, perhaps given the retro 1980 design of our current first team kit they could employ the away kit of that era, the dark blue/light blue combination that saw scarves being purloined from St Annes pupils, with this being the girls school's colours.
I am not a big fan of either kit, but it would enter into the spirit of things with regard to the current kit and bring fond memories of the likes of Kevin Keegan (pictured below) , Mick Channon, Steve Moran, Steve Williams etc wearing it.
