I'm not sure it's easy or difficult to write a profile for a player who has never actually played for us.

Edge signed for Dale on loan from Blackpool in August 2006 on loan to act as back up for Matt Gilks. Then boss Steve Parkin had spoke about getting a back up keeper to Gilks, and following a recommendation from Peter Fox who worked for both Dale and Blackpool, Edge was brought to Spotland.

However, the highly rated youngster's time at Spotland wasn't a long one, as within the first month he was recalled by the Seasiders following an injury to their main choice keeper.

Fortunately, he was able to return to Spotland later in the season to take his place on the Dale bench as back up to Gilks, spending a further three months at Dale, before similar problems at Blackpool saw him recalled to Bloomfield Road.

Fortunately for Dale, Gilks' time between the sticks was unaffected by suspension or injury which ensured that Edge left Spotland after two spells with the club and has yet to play a single game.

In between his spells with Dale, he had a brief loan spell with Bury where he played two games for the Shakers.
