Second Saints Star Gets Speeding Fine As Lemina's Is Slashed

Mario lemina is no longer the holder of the record for the UK's highest speeding fine but on loan Sofiane Boufal has followed his former team mate into the courts.

Mario Lemina has had his fine of £96,000 slashed to a mere £2,000 after it was found that the driving offences that he had been convicted of did not allow a fine of that nature to be imposed.

After his solicitor applied to the court to have the case reopened magistrates were forced to admit he had been sentenced wrongly as although speeding allows the courts to sentence according to income, the three charges of failing to provide the name of the driver of the car only allow for a maximum penalty for each offence

Subsequently the case was reopened and Lemina saw the charges, three of speeding - driving at 95mph on a dual carriageway and twice driving at 60mph in a temporary 40mph speed limit being dropped. and he was fined appropriately for the other offences meaning that his fine in total was £2,000 rather than the whopping amount that he was ordered to pay earlier in the week.

Whilst Lemina was obviously feeling relieved at saving himself a few quid, Sofiane Boufal was also having a case heard in the same court, he pleaded guilty in his absence of driving at 46 miles in the 40 mile limit on Redbridge Road.

His fine was a mere £220 and he was also ordered to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs..

He seems not to be fined to the full extent of the law and that can only be of the relative minor offence of the crime in that he was only 6 miles over the speed limit, anyone who uses the Redbridge Road, a three lane dual carriageway that until a couple of years ago used to have a £50 speed limit will know how easy it is to go over 40 MPH on that stretch of road.
