Saints Linked With Che

Not Che Guevara the Cuban revolutionary but Che Adams the Birmingham City striker who is reportably also wanted by Liverpool and Manchester United.

Saints are being linked heavily with 22 year of, Birmingham City forward Che Adams and there are rumours of several big teams being interested including the aforementioned North West duo.

However that is more likely to be Birmingham or his agent trying to drive the price and his wages u a notch or two.

Adams was born in Leicester and played for non league Oadby Town and then Conference side Ilkeston before joining Sheffield United in November 2014 in what has been described as a six figure deal.

Ironically his debut for the Blades and therefore his full professional debut was against Saints in the League Cup quarter final in December 2014 when he came on as a sub at half time and played his part in the Blades 1-0 win.

He played 47 times for the Sheffield club before joining Birmingham City in August 2016 for a fee reported to be around £2 million.

Since then he has made steady progression leading to this season when he has really caught fire and been linked with a move a step up the ladder to the Premier League, so far this season he has scored 14 Championship goals in 28 appearances, in his career at St Andrews he has notched 26 goals in 98 appearances.

Able to play either as a forward or an attacking midfield he is renowned for his pace and strength and ability to change games and at only 5ft 9 tall is something of a pocket rocket.

At this stage of his career a move to Saints would probably be better for him in the long run than a glamour move, certainly at Liverpool he would find himself struggling to get into their attack which already has six players who would get into most Premier League teams.

A move to St Mary's would offer him the opportunity to be in first team contention right from the off, in the old days this would be a no brainer for a player, but too many youngsters prefer to make themselves financially well off and end up rotting out of sight at the Big Six clubs than having a successful career in the Premier League by getting their grounding in first.

This seems a serious potential deal in that the player looks likely to move somewhere in the next few days it's just a question of where.
