Away Day Guide - Heybridge

After Tuesday's friendly at home to Aston Villa, the U's next pre-season fixture is at Heybridge Swifts on Thursday evening (kick off 7.30pm, not 7.45pm, as previously reported)

Admission prices will be £8 for adults and £4 for concessions (u16s and senior citizens), and gates open at 6.30pm.

If you're planning to drive to the game and have Satnav, then set your route to CM9 8JA Scraley Road, otherwise directions are as follows:
From Colchester, take the B1022 Maldon Road towards Maldon. Follow this through Tiptree and Great Totham and after approximately 13 miles (from Colchester) you'll reach Heybridge. Take the first left onto Scraley Road and the ground is on the right after about 400 metres. From Colchester the journey will take about 20-25 minutes.

There is a small car park at the ground and an overflow car park next door, failing that, it's street parking.

Despite being an evening game, it is possible to get to Heybridge and back using public transport. The no.75 bus service from Colchester to Maldon travels via Heybridge. From Colchester bus station the 6.05pm First Group service gets to Heybridge at 6.49pm and after the game there is a 10.12pm Regal Busways service which arrives back at Colchester bus station at 10.55pm.

The nearest train station to Heybridge is Witham. From here there is a bus service to Heybridge, but not a return service after the game. The no.90 Stephensons of Essex service to Maldon leaves Witham train station at 6.08pm and gets to Heybridge at 6.31pm.

The nearest bus stop to the ground is 'Oak Road' on Colchester Road. All of the above services stop here and Scraley Road is within walking distance off of Colchester Road.

For those fans hoping to have a beer before/after the game, Heybridge Swifts have a clubhouse at the ground which will be open and serving alcohol.
