Kish swoop is a scoop!

I could not believe the news that Leeds have re-signed Radostin Kishishev on his second loan-spell.

Ironically, the expansion of the EU and the arrival of migrant workers from Kish's native Bulgaria is a topic that I will no doubt be covering in my law-degree in a couple of weeks time.

However, I doubt if there will be any complaints or concerns raised in West Yorkshire about the return of this particular Bulgarian.

Yes, season 2006/07 was one we'd much rather forget and Kishishev was part of the Leeds squad that made unwanted history, slipping us down into the third tier of English football for the first-time.

However, Kish was a bright light through that gloom and most of all, he gave us hope. Do you remember his performance in midfield against Luton Town? It would have been injustice had Luton tucked away that penalty! Yes, Kish gave it away but he ran his socks off that afternoon and the disappointment was carved into his face - until Casper saved the spotkick! Happy memories, albeit in a false dawn.

Living in the East Midlands as I do, I don't really get too envious about Leicester City - even though they're a division above us and have a very rich Chairman ready to pour millions into the squad. However, when out-of-contract Kish moved from Charlton to them in the summer I was gutted!

I knew that realistically we couldn't keep him at Elland Road. I was surprised he elected to stay in the Championship, he oozed class!

I even made a rash prediction to my Leicester City supporting friends, that Kishishev would be their star player and win them promotion!

Thank F**k I'm wrong and he's back with us! Initially only for a month, but he has hinted a desire to stay longer.

That isn't entirely up to him or us. Clearly current Leicester boss Gary Megson doesn't fancy him - the next boss might want him back, given that Megson seems certain to move on to Bolton.

Who knows what the future holds? But one thing is for sure, what a welcome he will get when 30,000 Leeds fans scream out his name on Saturday afternoon as he takes to the field for the visit of Millwall.

Nice work Wisey! Welcome Home Kish!
