Looking to make his Mark - again

Dutch striker Mark De Vries has returned to Elland Road for a second loan spell.

Leicester City have allowed Mark De Vries a second opportunity to prove himself at Elland Road.

De Vries was sent back down the M1 early last month, when he picked up an ankle injury.

But now restored to full-fitness, the Netherland's born striker is back in West Yorkshire and is set to remain with us until January 15th.

But De Vries clearly wants to stay put, the 32 year old told the Yorkshire Evening Post: "I came back in the belief that we can agree something permanent otherwise I would not have bothered. It is up to me now to impress the gaffer and show him what I can do."

In his first spell, the ex Hearts man managed five appearances in a Leeds shirt and popped up to score a late winner against Yeovil.

Although Leicester have said he can play in the FA Cup, De Vries will not be elligible for the Hereford replay next Tuesday night because he was not registered as a Leeds player at the time the original tie took place.

Many Leicester fans I talk to don't rate him at all and won't be shedding too many tears over his departure, which seems will be permanent even if he doesn't remain at Leeds - however at League One level he isn't a bad option to have as a back-up man and will no doubt go straight into the fray against Bury in tonights JPT QF.
