Hesco giz a song....Hesco! Hesco!.....
Leeds announce new sponsorship deal for the East Stand.
I've often cringed at the thought of having our ground or parts of our ground renamed to the highest bidder.
For example we have the Reebok, Galpharm and Emirates Stadiums - not sure what monicker Valley Parade has these days? The Pulse? sorry its the Coral Window's Stadium.
Now Bates inc has got in on the act and for the next five-years at least our East Stand will be called the Hesco Bastion stand. Hesco Bastion are a local firm who manufacture Concertainer(R) units- no I'm not too sure either but according to CEO Shaun Harvey they have been responsible for "...saving and protecting hundreds of British lives in recent military conflicts."
Jimi Heselden OBE, chairman of Hesco Bastion called the East Stand "arguably the most visible building in Yorkshire".
I doubt "Hesco giz a song" will catch on, after all Lurpak never did during the Ridsdale era but if the sponsorship provides Simon Grayson with some much needed cash to bring in some new players following Tuesday's hammering at Bury, then who am I to mock?
