 | Your Report | Southampton v Millwall Your Report added at 22:26:38 Very odd what's happened from last month when Eckert initially took over. Okay he had a honeymoon period when everything came off for him and teams get wise and adjust their game but with the quality of the squad (well a handful of the first 11) there should be sufficient quality to win matches like today's. It genuinely does feel like now hes got the job he wants to avoid losing rather than win games. All roads as ever lead to sports rep though. We reflect their ambition i.e. to stay in business. I remember when Gordon Strachan described the players in his saints teams as being brave with the ball in terms of killer passing and sharp decision making. Ours are safety first cowards. COYRs. |
 | Your Report | Oxford United v Southampton Your Report added at 22:41:07 Thankfully we're not going up this season otherwise we'd break Derby's (or wolves) record. I thought the issues were just at the back without lacking a CB with heading ability and a keeper that can position himself to save shots across the body. Need to add a strong ball keeping midfielder and a CF. No doubt any players coming in will be wingers |
 | Your Report | Southampton v Coventry City Your Report added at 16:13:30 Do defenders get coached how to header nowadays? The science and the Jeff Astle case aside heading a much lighter ball shouldn't stop coaches drilling CBS in the essential art of heading |
 | Your Report | Millwall v Southampton Your Report added at 13:37:38 Muted performance by saints but energetic from Millwall who as others have said here deserved the win. Bit of a reality check after the past few wonderful weeks but the club have come a long way under tonda. COYRs |
 | Your Report | Southampton v Leicester City Your Report added at 08:29:42 We've heard of the new manager bounce but this is ridiculous. Seems when sports rep don't interfere with managerial appointments it works. I can't think of a 'new' manager who has come in and installed purpose, energy and confidence into a team so quickly. I thought who ever came in would take months to build the team back up. Genuinely hope sports Republic don't mess with the squad or manager and let this current situation run it's course. COYRs |
 | Your Report | Southampton v Swansea City Your Report added at 18:51:40 Sports Republic are a lower league multi club owning organisation. Whilst they are in charge the best we can hope for is mid table championship. Not the end of the world but their business model isn't capable of delivering sustainable top flight football. VOYRs |
 | Your Report | Southampton v Wolverhampton Wanderers Your Report added at 18:54:27 Sports Republic have made this club a laughing stock, their hedging of bets on spending millions on chance buys cannot be successful, particularly in the top flight. It may work in the weak leagues of Europe which is sports republic natural market but they are out of their depth in England. They need to sell up. As for juric - he must be being paid stupid money to manage saints as I can't think of any other reason why pride hasn'tafe him resign. The root of this pathetic relegation is on the owners but the last two years have been more depressing than when we went down back in the 2000s - back then we were in serious financial dire straits so couldn't afford decent players however this time the money has been there but had been squandered. | Your Report | Southampton v Leicester City Your Report added at 18:56:03 F##k, this is going to be a Billy Davies style embarrassment of a season. But with some decent players in this squad which derby county didn't have when they came up at our expense |
 | Your Report | Arsenal v Southampton Your Report added at 20:31:33 Diminishing returns with the boy genius in charge. Arsenal didn't look that great but like the rest of the teams in the league they know we'll provide them opportunities. The usual headless chickens act after the equaliser and when we need a manager to step up to change the formation or sub in a midfielder to at least try to shore up the middle of the pitch RM sat on his hands again. We do not look a bad team but we're a vital percentile away from getting a result. I think that difference is a manager who watches and reads the game rather than one that is obsessed by systems and thirds There are things to be positive about. I don't think RM can build on those positives and turn them into match winning matches |
 | Your Report | Newcastle United v Southampton Your Report added at 10:18:03 The board needs to support RM with the correct tools to do the job they ask him to do. A decent GK has been needed for at least 2 seasons. Rather than splash large money on a 3rd choice striker sports republic need to stump up for a decent GK or RM needs to show the flexibility he showed in the last few games of last season. |
