Girona / Spain 15:06 - Apr 27 with 2066 views | kingsburyR | I have seen the video circulating of Vinicius Jr being called a "Mono" (Monkey in Spanish) by half the stadium if not more. In this day and age how can this be acceptable and how can the authorities let them get away with it? In my many many years going to QPR I have only heard a racist comment once (that I can remember) and embarrassingly it was from a guest of mine that had borrowed one of my season tickets. After standing up and saying what he did I asked him to leave his seat (he was a work colleague not a personal friend). I'm sure there is still the odd idiot coming to the games harbouring these views but wisely keeps it to him/herself. But half a bloody stadium?? Christ!
| Dont know why we bother. .... but we do! |

Not sure it’s been confirmed that they were singing “mono” yet? I was just reading somewhere that they were singing “Tonto”, which apparently means silly in Spanish. I’ve no idea though I’ve not seen the video. [Post edited 27 Apr 2023 15:45]

A quick skim of the internet has him abused in Barcelona, Mallorca, Valladolid and…Madrid. People seem able to convince themselves “it’s not racist abuse, it’s Vinicius” (or Lukaku, or Balotelli, or Koulibaly…)

Yeah I just read that. An hanging effigy in Madrid! Why him in particular though? What’s he done? I don’t take much interest in football outside of QPR anymore so I might have missed something.

Too good, probably. People don't like it. The worst ever racism I saw from Rangers fans was directed at Cyrille Regis in the 1982 semi-final, because they were terrified of him.

Would explain why I’ve not heard any racism against QPR players in my thirty years of going 😆

I've heard comments inside (and outside) the ground about: Brevett Clive Wilson Richard Langley Rehman Eze It's very much there and scary how deep.
