TBF to him (and you know what I think of him) it was part of his wider discussion about he couldn't believe some of the stuff that was just taken as "well it's always been like that" at QPR when he took over. Such as the players wandering in at 1pmish down South Africa Road under their own steam on a matchday, having fed themselves in the morning etc.

One of the nicer stories Mick Beale told us in his brief time here, and look it's Beale so who knows if it's true...
Randomly one week last summer Sinclair had a dire week in training. Beale had upped him to the first team, taken him to Germany, very impressed with him, and also knew it was politically good to have him involved after what happened with Warbs. Then, suddenly, he went to sht. Tired, lethargic, all over the place.
They did a bit of digging. Turned out he was living at home with, Beale said his parents but could have been a family putting him up in digs or whatever. These adults had gone away for a week to Majorca on holiday, leaving Sinclair by himself. So he'd basically sat in front of the TV eating Pot Noodle all week because he can't cook.
So they started getting the training ground staff to prepare him cooked meals for dinner in plastic boxes to take home, and were following him round all week asking what he'd eaten.
Clive, my son was with his mates after Rangers and they called him over. He thought he was going to get jumped, the poor fecker. I think he would have been ok, mind.
Sorry, must add - a very nice bloke, according to my son. No surprise there.

To be fair for years the players just turned up no eating or socialising before hand. I remember the old players bar well it allowed players to socialise after etc. shame John Gregory got it closed down in his time. It’s a media area now.
Long way to go so let’s not put too much pressure on him. He did seem to come of age yesterday, goal or not. As someone else said, let’s look after him.
With expectations kept in check yet allowed to progress he could be a real asset.

On this, I watched an extended interview with Ryan Mason at the weekend, the ex spurs player forced to retire after fracturing his skull. He called out the much maligned Chris Ramsey as one of the people who helped him most in his career. Thought that was pretty interesting given he's often blamed by the twitter mob etc for our failings.

Is it me or does his heritage make this even more special? Black and Irish, two things I'll always associate with the Rangers, a club from the place where multiculturalism started, with Caribbean and Irish support,; the Bush, The Grove, Harlesdon, Kilburn... We love you Sinclair.
This. Grew up in Harlesden in the 70s and it was a real melting pot of working class multiculturalism. Rough around the edges for sure but a great community to be a part of. Really missed it when we moved out to the Harrow area when I was older. Suddenly everyone was white and mostly English with some Irish and I found it all rather boring.
I'm a long way away now, but a big part of me will always be where I spent my first years and I'm grateful for that experience.

Never been so down as a QPR fan after the first game and the pre-season and the general ffp turmoil. Football in general. Just shît. Was thinking of taking up something like chess instead. And then Saturday’s performance, result, and the passion of Sinclair Armstrong and I’m up again. What a great lad.

Longer term...that assist could be more important to his development / value than the goal.
With his pace, power, and hanging around the box long enough, a goal, be it scrappy or worldie, was always going to come eventually.
The assist, however, was so so different to what we saw last season. Clive mentions Hudds away in the report; there was also that late run at Sunderland that, if I may paraphrase Brian on match days, CTN. Several times at LR that blur into one as his pace took him into promising positions that he quickly turned into dead ends.
The composure he showed while waiting for Paal, the delivery...that was exciting to see....

Yes, Ted. And that includes his eyesight, referred to by Bosh. We saw in a Heston film that he wears glasses. Unless I misunderstood, I think that SA mentioned in his interview at Cardiff that his contact lens had slipped. We would not want him held back by eyesight problems, I wonder what the club can do?
