LUST respond to Bates' "illiterate idiot" rant

Sickpots, Morons, Empty Vessels, Waste of Space, Pain in the Arse and Illterate Idiots, does the great bearded ones bile know any depths?

The Leeds United Supporters Trust ave, to their credit made a dignified response to the withering attack Ken Bates launched upon them prior to Saturday's win over Notts Forest.

Their full statement can be read here:

Bates provided the fans with a much needed, long overdue update on the takeover fiasco but typically it descended into an attack on the Leeds United Supporters Trust, who amongst other things he branded "inaccurate", "illiterate idiots", "a pain in the arse" and "a waste of space".

One hopes it will be the parting shot by the most divisive chairman in the history of our great club, who has done nothing but instigate civil war and give credence to a throwaway statement in 1984 he made about not resting until Leeds United were extinguished from the Football League.

Bates has used a bizarre string of excuses why the takeover was not completed during the summer, ranging from lawyers on vacation to the chairman of the consortium being in available to conclude "chairman to chairman business" due to personal reasons.

However make no mistake that despite his constant mantra that he is acting in the best interests of Leeds United, the fact of the matter is he is only hanging on to screw every last penny he can get out of our club.

He is a sitting duck chairman, living on borrowed time and I praise LUST's dignified response to his hostile bile. Like most dictators, he is living on borrowed time and his time will come sooner rather than later.

However as supporters, LUST members or not, and I am not, we must keep up our balanced agenda like yesterday where we give our unstinting backing to the team but remind the footballing world that we will never move on until Bates is Out of our club.

This could be pretty symbolic if the latest round of rumours are true and Bates is seeing employment under the new investment terms as a consultant or figurehead chairman.

Take your thirty pieces of silver you Chelsea bastard and f-k off! Why not try Sheffield Wednesday, the club you declared who's fans wanted you so badly seven years ago?
