Swans Linked With Derby County's Nyatanga

Swansea have been linked by press reports with Lewin Nyatanga

The paper reports that he is stalling over a permanent move to Oakwell after coming to the end of a loan spell there.  Nyatanga was on the scoresheet yesterday as Barnsley secured their Championship status with a 3-0 victory over Charlton and is quoted - when asked on the permanent move "I'm not sure what will happen"

The fee believed to have been agreed between the two clubs is £500,000 and the paper reports that the Swans and Cardiff have now both been put on alert with the stalling over the move.  Any move at that price for Nyatanga will mean breaking the club record for Swansea although the chance to link him up with Ashley Williams may be too good to turn down.

Former manager Kenny Jackett was always rumoured to have turned down the chance to sign Nyatanga on loan last season when in charge - preferring instead to plum for Richard Duffy on a loan period.

Nyatanga has spent much of this season on loan at Barnsley - bar a spell during January and has appeared in 40 of the Tykes 45 games this season.   He also featured in three games for Derby including a 3-1 Premiership defeat to Portsmouth in January.

This could very well be a case of a paper putting two and two together and coming up with 3 but you just never know and Nyatanga would most definitely be a huge addition to our squad.  Time will tell.
