BJB Day 56

American Pie In The House? Calm Down Leigh!!!

Home > Story Index >Day 56 In The Big Jack Brother House

17.07.03 - 9.14am - The day before the eviction is announced and the housemates are discussing which one of them will not last into the final week. Leigh is convinced that he is going this week as all the non members of the trust will vote him out. Jason confesses that he would like to go as he has a hospital appointment on Monday.
17.07.03 - 10.22am - Big Jack Brother has set the housemates a task which they will work on today and tomorrow. The housemates that remain in the house will then perform the task in two days time. They have to take the words to the song "American Pie" and change the words so that it must include the twelve people who have shared in the Big Jack Brother experience.
17.07.03 - 11.17am - One line of the song is almost written to reflect Reeco's time in the house. Apparantely Miss American Pie now "DTCTTL" Predictable but what better way to remember Reeco.
17.07.03 - 12.29pm - The housemates are still working on the song for Saturday. (Leigh believes that there is a campaign in that sentence somewhere) At the moment they are struggling to come up with any line for Steve Watkin that does not include the word miss or for John Williams that does not involve the word sleep. And they can't think of anything to rhyme with £3.99 either!
17.07.03 - 2.27pm - Myra is cooking the group their last lunch together. She is making spaghetti bolognese. Leon asks for his to be cut up before he eats it as the spaghetti is taller than he is and he is afraid he won't be able to eat it all in one go.
17.07.03 - 2.54pm - Leon is refusing to eat all his spaghetti as 'I don't like it' Myra is telling him to stop being so stupid and is trying to coax him into eating it. "Here comes the train Leon is the tunnel opening wide" James and Jason are laughing so much at this that Jason literally does split his sides and needs medical attention.
17.07.03 - 4.17pm - Big Jack Brother announces that both Leon and James have permission to play in the friendly against Port Talbot but Jason must stay in the house instead. Jason tells the group that it is no problem anyway as he would have been injured for this game as it is a Friday!
17.07.03 - 8.19pm - The housemates are having a drink to toast the one of them that will leave tomorrow. Leon is allowed half a shandy but this soon becomes clear to be bad practice as he decides to go skinny dipping in the pool. The housemates use a fishing net to get him out but he keeps slipping back through the holes.
17.07.03 - 9.14pm - A drunk Jason Smith is trying to start a bonfire in the BJB garden. He is using safety matches but as with anything nothing is safe with Jason around and he sets fire to himself. Leigh wants to douse him in petrol to put him out (!) but James the sensible throws him in the pool (Jason not Leigh!)
17.07.03 - 11.42pm - The five remaining housemates head to bed. By this time tomorrow one of them will have become the 8th person to be evicted from the house. This is your final chance to find out which one by casting your votes using the form below.

Jamal Lowe : Still to be contacted regards his future at Swansea, Langstaff update
We have been told by numerous Swansea fans of a chance meeting in a service station between Jamal Lowe and those returning from Norwich yesterday. Nothing in that or indeed the conversation they had yesterday. Indeed there has to be some interpretation from what we know already on Jamal Lowe.
Brave Swans in memorable game at Carrow Road
It was a pulsating game to watch and very much one of my favourite away games of the season. The Swans looked an entirely different side to that we saw at Middlesbrough when it is clear a catalyst for commitment was agreed behind the scenes at Swansea City. To a man every player grafted and wore the shirt with pride. To see the players really acknowledge the Swans support at Carrow Road this afternoon was emotional.
Norwich City 2 - 2 Swansea City - Player Ratings and Reports
If you saw the match, please give us your player ratings and a mini match report.
TEAM NEWS : Norwich City v Swansea City
The Swans are on the Norfolk Broads, punting and boating their way to the end of the season. Hopefully the city of Norwich is obliging.
Swansea City : Jack Army travel over 1,000 miles for two games in succession
Swansea City have set out on their second long distance away trip in two weekends, this time to Norwich for todays clash between the Swans and Canaries (3pm) Over the last ten meetings between the clubs Swansea City have won five times, Norwich the same.
Cardiff City fan sends tragedy tweet directed at dead Swansea City fan Terry Coles
As a result of the news reported by Sky on Wednesday that five military horses had escaped and ran through central London, a Cardiff City follower thought it wise to relate the incident to the death of Swansea fan Terry Coles, 42.
Swansea reject Cullen contract and trigger one year option
Liam Cullen has had his request for a new contract dismissed by Swansea City after discussions broke down last week. The lowest paid ‘senior’ player at the club ( he is twenty five) asked for a better contract increasing his £3,500 a week to around £7,000 a week over three years.
Gwyn’s Eye View : Norwich City v Swansea City ‘The officials’
Thanks to Gwyn we have a thorough assessment of this weeks officials who will take charge at Carrow Road this Saturday at 3pm. Norwich City will be keen to get the points to guarantee their play off slot, and Saturday is their first go.
Sam Parker hasn’t turned down a new deal, he is willing to negotiate
He was a revelation for the Swans for the few games he played this season, and now it emerges Sam Parker has ‘turned down’ a new Swansea City contract. News is thin on the ground, and some of it just incorrect as he looks to involve his representatives in some further negotiations. Plus his current contract runs for two more years.
Swansea City : The vision is clearer, so Jamal Lowe ?
There were some worrying moments for the Swans yesterday, on three occasions mistakes from playing out from the back nearly saw the home side score. And is there now a case for Jamal Lowe to be offered a contract at Swansea ?
