Communication Breakdown

The silence from St Mary's is deafening.

One of my major critisicms of the past regimes since the departure of Lowe two years ago, was the fact that they communicated too much information through Internet message boards, this lead to rumour and counter rumour that continues to this day and spreads nothing but instability in the club..

However things seem to have gone in a complete circle since the return of Rupert Lowe, in short nothing is coming out of the club, official or otherwise.

This too in its own way spreads instability, for instance it has been common knowledge that Lowe has met with Pearson to discuss the future of the manager and the playing staff, two days after the event and no word from the club about what is happening.

s Nigel pearson going to be given the chance to take the club forward or not and just who is on the retained list are two big questions and the Club need to take the bull by the horns and lead from the front, even if its not news that will be particularly welcomed by the fans, they will appreciate a little bit of transpaarency and honesty.

We want to see this club being lead from the front and positively and this silencce is not helping Rupert Lowe in what will be, whether he acknowledges it or not, a difficult battle to win the supporters round.

In the meantime we the fans are treated to a series of banal stories on the clubs website, with anything from an ex players intention to watch Man Utd in Moscow, to the fact that another player out on loan for the past five months is in the Czech squad, to the much acclaimed news that the Ambassodors club will continue without Lawrie McMenemy.

In the meantime the real topics havent been discussed, ther eis little on the fact that McMenemy is gone and even less on what the fans really want to know and thats regarding the team and the manager.

Whilst I appreciate that in tough times, tough decisions have to be made and sometimes they have to be done in secrecy, in this case if the meeting has taken place and a decision made, then surely it should be announced publicly.

The message to Rupert Lowe is clear, if you are to take this club forward then you have to have the backing of the fans, if you dont then it cannot succeed, start as you mean to go on, and that should be by being honest with the supporrters, many are giving you a chance against their better judgement, many arent giving you a chance, at least not initially and wont be going to the games next year, be honest with us, be direct and clear and concise in your communications, but more importantly be quick, deal with situations before they are allowed to develope and tell the fans immediately.

Brave Swans in memorable game at Carrow Road
It was a pulsating game to watch and very much one of my favourite away games of the season. The Swans looked an entirely different side to that we saw at Middlesbrough when it is clear a catalyst for commitment was agreed behind the scenes at Swansea City. To a man every player grafted and wore the shirt with pride. To see the players really acknowledge the Swans support at Carrow Road this afternoon was emotional.

Sam Parker hasn’t turned down a new deal, he is willing to negotiate
He was a revelation for the Swans for the few games he played this season, and now it emerges Sam Parker has ‘turned down’ a new Swansea City contract. News is thin on the ground, and some of it just incorrect as he looks to involve his representatives in some further negotiations. Plus his current contract runs for two more years.
Swansea City : The vision is clearer, so Jamal Lowe ?
There were some worrying moments for the Swans yesterday, on three occasions mistakes from playing out from the back nearly saw the home side score. And is there now a case for Jamal Lowe to be offered a contract at Swansea ?
