Monk Backs Trundle To Succeed
Garry Monk believes that Lee Trundle can win games for the Swans as he prepares for his home coming
Trundle has signed a loan deal at the Liberty Stadium until January 1 and skipper Monk believes that he can be as good a player as last time he was at the club.
"Trunds has got the quality. Trunds has been a great player for this club in the past I don't see any reason why he couldn't do it for us again" Monk told the Evening Post
"With the qualities he possesses he can win games. I'm not sure of his fitness and what condition he is in - he hasn't played much competitively over the past two years.
"With Trunds when he is at a decent level that is when he can show his stuff.
"When he scored 20 odd goals in one season for us it was after the best pre-season he had."
Monk also said he would welcome back Bayo Akinfenwa should rumours of his return be true adding "Bayo is a great player and is scoring goals at the moment. He would be something different that we haven't had for a while a bit of strength and presence up front.
"Particularly because we play one up front maybe it would be a good option for us."
