Dobbie - We Know We Can Do It

Stephen Dobbie says the Swans are going into the play offs with every belief that they can gain the ultimate promotion

Dobbie - who grabbed two for Swansea City on Saturday - is looking for back to back promotions after playing his part in Blackpool's victory in last season's play offs.

And he believes that he can see similarities between the two sides as the Swans go into the end of season lottery - starting with a two legged semi final against Nottingham Forest.  Dobbie scored one for Blackpool against Forest in last year's semi and he insists that the similarities don't end there

Speaking to the Western Mail, Dobbie said “If we continue to play like we are hopefully we won’t be too far away

“Football-wise we’re maybe better than Blackpool were and the team spirit is there.

“That was the main thing for me last year, the team spirit. We all played for the gaffer and I think we’ve got it exactly the same here.

“To know that you’re actually going to Wembley and have so many good memories if you win it was great last season and the boys in our dressing room know we can do it.

“We’ve had a great run over the last couple of games and got momentum, similar to Blackpool last year when we went on a great run to the play-offs.

“You need to take your chances at the right time, especially away from home. We’re away to Forest where we got turned over 3-1 so it’s going to be a hard game.

“It will be nice if we can get a decent result and come back to the Liberty and get the crowd behind us and I’m sure we’ll do well. They’ve got some great players who have been there a few years and know about disappointment so they’ll want to rectify that.”

Brave Swans in memorable game at Carrow Road
It was a pulsating game to watch and very much one of my favourite away games of the season. The Swans looked an entirely different side to that we saw at Middlesbrough when it is clear a catalyst for commitment was agreed behind the scenes at Swansea City. To a man every player grafted and wore the shirt with pride. To see the players really acknowledge the Swans support at Carrow Road this afternoon was emotional.
