Help A Fellow Jack

Many of you will have read in this week's Western Mail about fellow Swansea fan Cameron Davies who has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

We were contacted by Tony Collins from the Welsh Tartan Centre who is supporting Nick Johnson - another Swans fan - in his weekend challenge called 'Tough Mudder' from which he is raising funds to buy an armrest for specially adapted wheelchair to help the teenager do the basics like cuddle his mother and also celebrate the goals that the Swans will score in the coming season.

There has so far been great support from Swans and Cardiff fans for Cameron's cause and Tony has asked us to continue raising the awareness for this cause which we are only too happy to do - the Swansea family is a close one and we traditionally help each other if we can.

The 'Tough Mudder' challenge is a 13 mile assault course designed to test strength, endurance and fitness and we wish Nick all the very best in this challenge and hope he goes a long way to getting Cam the help that he needs.

As Nick told the Western Mail in midweek "This is Swansea and Cardiff coming together through sport, laying down their swords to help a teenager,” he said.

"Cam is Jack Army and the team name we’re competing under for the sponsored Tough Mudder Challenge is Cameron’s Jack Army but donations are through the roof from Cardiff fans,” he said.

"The deterioration in Cam’s arms happened over just six or seven matches. I was sitting at a match last season and waved to Cam but his mother said he can’t lift his arms anymore. I had to do something.

"If he can raise his arms on his own to give his mother a hug that would be a tear jerking moment.”

Brave Swans in memorable game at Carrow Road
It was a pulsating game to watch and very much one of my favourite away games of the season. The Swans looked an entirely different side to that we saw at Middlesbrough when it is clear a catalyst for commitment was agreed behind the scenes at Swansea City. To a man every player grafted and wore the shirt with pride. To see the players really acknowledge the Swans support at Carrow Road this afternoon was emotional.

Sam Parker hasn’t turned down a new deal, he is willing to negotiate
He was a revelation for the Swans for the few games he played this season, and now it emerges Sam Parker has ‘turned down’ a new Swansea City contract. News is thin on the ground, and some of it just incorrect as he looks to involve his representatives in some further negotiations. Plus his current contract runs for two more years.
Swansea City : The vision is clearer, so Jamal Lowe ?
There were some worrying moments for the Swans yesterday, on three occasions mistakes from playing out from the back nearly saw the home side score. And is there now a case for Jamal Lowe to be offered a contract at Swansea ?
