Fabianski - Golden Glove Winner 14/15?

Could Swansea City goalkeeper Lucasz Fabianski be heading towards the golden glove award this season? Russell Cane looks at the evidence

The Swans goalkeeper is currently the best performing goalkeeper in the Premier League this season. This is not a view from behind rose-tinted glasses but the findings of online fantasy football game www.oulala.com . With it's diverse scoring matrix of 70 different statistics sourced directly from Opta the fantasy game is able to compare on the field actions on a much broader scale than just the usual basic clean sheets that other fantasy games award to goalkeepers.

The Pole currently sits top of the EPL goalkeeper charts with 237 points and the rest of the Premier League goalkeepers are struggling to keep up. The chasing pack includes other top performing keepers from this season such as Fraser Forster (200), Hugo Lloris (198) and Adrian (180).
Fabianski's thirty-five caught crosses, twenty diving saves and twelve clearances emphasise just how well he is playing this season.

Last season Fabianski played just one game for his previous club Arsenal in their 2-0 away victory against Norwich on the last day of the season. What's their loss is most definitely our gain.

Unlike Mr Wenger, managers on Oulala certainly are recognising our player. Last weekend three times as many managers picked Fabianski than picked Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois and he was also selected 4:1 in favour of Manchester City's Joe Hart and he didn't disappoint the believers after putting in a stellar performance against ex-club Arsenal in the Swan's 2-1 victory.

In European football only a few names have bettered Fabianski in the opening three months of the season, including world beaters Bayern Munich's Manuel Neuer and Juventus' Gianluigi Buffon. However our very own shot stopper is outperforming the likes of Iker Casillas and Claudia Bravo of Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Oulala is a free to play, weekly European fantasy football game offering cool prizes to it's top three managers every week. Oulala offers unique features such as a diverse scoring matrix and live in-play substitutions making it the closest fantasy football has ever got to reality. Brave Swans in memorable game at Carrow Road

The Swans looked an entirely different side to that we saw at Middlesbrough when it is clear a catalyst for commitment was agreed behind the scenes at Swansea City. To a man every player grafted and wore the shirt with pride. To see the players really acknowledge the Swans support at Carrow Road this afternoon was emotional.
