Tottenham End Their Interest In Shelvey?

Tottenham's interest in Jonjo Shelvey could be shortlived with reports today that they are interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot whose appearance opportunities last season were limited.

Earlier in the week it was suggested that Spurs were interested in taking Shelvey to White Hart Lane as they looked to build their squad to try and get a place back in the Top 4 next season and the Champions League rewards that the position commands.

Rabiot made just 10 appearances last season but with a pass accuracy of 89% for the season and with four goals as well then the Mirror report that he has told PSG that he would like to move on this summer in his search for first team football.

The France Under-21 international had a brief spell with Manchester City as a youth player in 2008, and Tottenham are very eager to bring him back to England.

It has to be good news for the Swans that Spurs are now casting their attentions elsewhere as it is certainly not the right time for us to sell Shelvey and we could do without his head being turned by interest from elsewhere.

Shelvey's form at the back end of last season was excellent and one of the reasons why we pushed on at the end of the season and secured a record breaking finish to the season.

He will continue to be a major part of our coming season and with the capture of the likes of Andre Ayew and Franck Tabanou this is one of those summers when we are due to strengthen the squad and not let people move on especially to rival Premier League clubs

So the more that Spurs look elsewhere the better it is for us and lets hope that the link with Rabiot is a secure one.
