Swansea's transfer dealings have long since been hailed as some of the shrewdest dealings in the Premier League and the deals that are taking place this summer only serve to back that fact up especially when you consider them to other deals that have taken place since the season ended.
The Swans have so far bought in Kristoffer Nordfeldt, Andre Ayew and Franck Tabanou into their squad this season with all of them arriving for relatively minimal transfer fees or signing on fees depending on which reports you want to believe.
It is a mantra that has served us well for a long period of time and as fans we have got used to - and like - the fact that we manage our budgets closely and will not risk our long term future to get players into the club.
And when you consider that last season we finished a record breaking 8th place the fact that we are adding such quality to our squad without breaking the bank can only feel good ahead of the new season.
Last season we saw the likes of Lucasz Fabianski and Jack Cork arrive in Swansea for bargain fees (or even free transfers) and they established themselves as essential parts of the Swansea side and made a mockery of the amount of money that some clubs throw at staying in this division (and so many fail miserably)
Even this summer you only have to look around at even some of the players that we are linked with to wonder how any of these players will ever get the moves that they desire. For example we have been linked with Jordan Rhodes and Troy Deeney both at around £12m and both for players who are yet to play at Premier League level.
Charlie Austin - one of the leading scorers in this division last season - is reported to be begging QPR to reduce his £15m asking price so that he can get himself a move back to the Premier League in the fear that the price tag is putting people off.
Reports suggest that Liverpool are about to complete a £12.5m capture of Nathaniel Clyne - two and a half times what we paid for Kyle Naughton. Two and a half times the player? I don't think so.
Petr Cech joined Arsenal in an £11m deal yet we get two international goalkeepers for a fraction of that cost and you get a fuller picture of exactly just how good we are at this transfer market.
And this is why when we are being linked with players to try and work out whether it is a true rumour or not you just need to look at the player, the fee quoted and if it seems to be a sound piece of business then we could well be interested.
