8th But With A Push For Europe?

Swans fans are clearly happy with the way that the summer spending has gone at the Liberty with more than 1 in 2 fans voting in our recent site poll that the Swans will end the season somewhere between 5th and 8th place in the Premier League.

Having just missed out on the European places in last season's record breaking run, the Swans will embark on a 5th Premier League campaign in August having signed three quality players to add to the squad that ended last season in such good form.

There is a genuine belief that we can go higher at the moment although people within the club have been quick to set expectations at a reasonable level by saying that standing still may well be classed as progress next season.

Speaking last week Chairman Huw Jenkins said "It's very difficult to actually put a name on something to achieve

"And the fact is that it doesn't alter year on year – we have to make sure we have a squad which is better assembled than ever, and we have to make sure everyone at the club is focused on making sure we are part of the Premier League for many years to come.

"As tough sometimes as that may be because we have spent years moving through the divisions and hitting targets and setting new ones, there comes a time when finishing comfortably in the Premier League has to be seen as an excellent achievement. "

Where Will We Finish Next Season?

Brave Swans in memorable game at Carrow Road
It was a pulsating game to watch and very much one of my favourite away games of the season. The Swans looked an entirely different side to that we saw at Middlesbrough when it is clear a catalyst for commitment was agreed behind the scenes at Swansea City. To a man every player grafted and wore the shirt with pride. To see the players really acknowledge the Swans support at Carrow Road this afternoon was emotional.

Sam Parker hasn’t turned down a new deal, he is willing to negotiate
He was a revelation for the Swans for the few games he played this season, and now it emerges Sam Parker has ‘turned down’ a new Swansea City contract. News is thin on the ground, and some of it just incorrect as he looks to involve his representatives in some further negotiations. Plus his current contract runs for two more years.
Swansea City : The vision is clearer, so Jamal Lowe ?
There were some worrying moments for the Swans yesterday, on three occasions mistakes from playing out from the back nearly saw the home side score. And is there now a case for Jamal Lowe to be offered a contract at Swansea ?
