Nordfeldt On His Busy Summer

Kristoffer Nordfeldt has had a busy summer but he wouldn't have it any other way as he prepares for life in the Premier League with the Swans.

Nordfeldt celebrated his birthday by signing for the club and then got married and was told he was going to be a father all within days of each other which isn't the normal quiet close season that maybe some players can expect.

But having made his Swans bow in the midweek 1-1 draw in Germany, he couldn't be a happier man as he looks forward to trying to dislodge the excellent Lukasz Fabianski from the Number 1 spot at Swansea and help the club build on last season's record breaking performances.

The Swedish international will not have been signed purely to be a complete back up to Fab, this is a serious signing of someone that we know can compete for the first team spot and whilst he will start as a number 2 having a serious competitor in the background for the jersey should bring the best out of both goalkeepers.

Speaking to the club's official website whilst on tour, Nordfeldt said "It’s been quite a busy start to life at Swansea

"I came to Swansea to meet the gaffer and do the medical, and a day later I signed for the club on my birthday.

"A couple of days later I got married to my wife, and then we had the great news that we are expecting our first child in November.

"I’ve also had to adapt to my new club and get used to everything, and now we’re here in Grassau preparing for the new season.

"We have more time with the boys out here and it strengthens the bond within the team.

"Everyone has been very caring and welcoming to me and the fellow new players. It’s an easy group to fit into. It’s been a smooth transition."

Nordfeldt is expected to make his first start for the Swans today in the final game in Germany against 1860 Munich.

Brave Swans in memorable game at Carrow Road
It was a pulsating game to watch and very much one of my favourite away games of the season. The Swans looked an entirely different side to that we saw at Middlesbrough when it is clear a catalyst for commitment was agreed behind the scenes at Swansea City. To a man every player grafted and wore the shirt with pride. To see the players really acknowledge the Swans support at Carrow Road this afternoon was emotional.
