Mane Rumoured To Be Having Medical After Terms Agreed !
Several media sources are reporting that Sadio Mane could be having a medical at Anfield as early as Monday, but how true are these rumours ?
Various media outlets are reporting that Sadio Mane will have a medical at Liverpool after Saints agreed a £30 million fee for the Senagalese striker.
But whether these rumours have any substance is yet to be seen.
Certainly it would represent a good piece of business for Saints, although some fans would say that Mane had a good season scoring 11 Premier League goals, the truth was his season was for the most part underwhelming, only bursting into life in the final 8 games when he scored 8 goals, up to then 3 goals in the previous 29 or so was not exactly having the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool reaching for their cheque books.
So it looks like Saints could be cashing in, but the fact is we have plenty of other attacking options and like previous seasons we could probably use £30 million to buy to players to replace Mane who would score more than 11 goals between them and offer different options.
I would of course be delighted to see Mane stay another year, but every player has his price, Sadio Mane did a £12 million pound job for Saints last season with 11 goals, if we can get £30 million for him then take it, we could spend £20 million on a player who would get 12-15 goals and still hve change for a central defender.
However even if Mane does go and Pelle also departs, we still have Charlie Austin, Sane Long, Jay Rodriguez and now Nathan Redmond as attacking options, not to mention who else we might bring in.
We have a strategy it is working trust in those running the club !
