Looks Like Just Two More

Paul Clement has suggested that it will be just two more players for the Swans this transfer window with many predicting that it will be Wilfried Bony and Santiago Arias who come in through the entrance door at the Liberty.

So far we have seen Sam Clucas arrive from Hull as the first signing of the Gylfi Sigurdsson money and there have been reports this afternoon that Man City have accepted a bid from the Swans for Wilfried Bony in the region of £12m.

Add to that what would be a reasonable fee for Arias and you have the spending of the Sigurdsson money on just three players which shows just how hard it is to build a Premier League squad on a sustainable budget.

Clement will have worked well over his eight months in the job if this is the end of his window - add Roque Mesa to the mix and you have four decent additions to top those that he signed in January although the weaknesses in the squad are still there to be seen.

"We are not necessarily close on anyone else before the weekend," Clement said.

"We have targets and I would like to bring in another two before the window closes.

"I have said in the past forward positions are important to us, and that is where our focus is.

" We want it done sooner rather than later, but it is not always possible.

"We have to be prepared to go to the wire to get the right player for the right valuation.

"It is not going to be before the game on Saturday and then there are two weeks before the next game.

"But there are important training and integration days coming up but one we are trying to do will be later rather than sooner."

Brave Swans in memorable game at Carrow Road
It was a pulsating game to watch and very much one of my favourite away games of the season. The Swans looked an entirely different side to that we saw at Middlesbrough when it is clear a catalyst for commitment was agreed behind the scenes at Swansea City. To a man every player grafted and wore the shirt with pride. To see the players really acknowledge the Swans support at Carrow Road this afternoon was emotional.
