The toughest test yet?

The Swans face what could be their toughest test of the season yet when they head to Leeds this evening looking to build on Saturday's win over Millwall and push themselves closer to the play off spots.

For Leeds the position is different though as they will be looking to secure the win that will possibly push them back to the top of the table and on track for a return to the Premier League, something they have craved for so long.

It has all the ingredients of a great game ahead for both sides and if the game earlier this season at the Liberty is anything to go by then we could be looking at a classic. The Swans have been beaten just once since the turn of the year - last time on the road at Bristol City - whilst it is fair to say that Leeds form has been more erratic after brushing aside most of the teams they faced during the front end of the season.

The game has the added interest in that Dan James is likely to feature after his proposed deadline day move to Leeds collapsed and I am sure he will be well aware that the welcome at Elland Road for him maybe anything but.

We should hopefully too see Ollie McBurnie back into the starting line up after his substitute appearance at the weekend whilst it will be confirmed that we will face up against old boy Pablo Hernandez who will replace Jack Clarke in the Leeds side.

Finally, for those that like (or hate) a stat, the Swans have only won once at Elland Road and that was 70 years ago. 15 defeats and 3 draws have made up the other 18 games.

So what value can we see from the odds in this game? We have picked the below that could spark your interest as our top 3 bets for tonight.

1. Despite our poor record at Elland Road, the home team have been beaten twice in their last three outings there and could suggest that their nerves as being favourites are getting to them. If you fancy the Swans to capitalise on that then at odds of 4/1 the return could be a good one.

2. Dan James. You just cannot help but think that Dan will go into this game with something to prove and whilst the occasion could get to him we think he is better than that. At odds of 18/1 to score first or 6/1 to score at anytime we can certainly see value to be had there.

3. Both teams to score. I just cannot see anything but a game where there are quite a few goals tonight so backing both teams to score makes sense and although only odds of 20/27 it's as close to a shoe-in as you would want it to be (maybe!)

Brave Swans in memorable game at Carrow Road
It was a pulsating game to watch and very much one of my favourite away games of the season. The Swans looked an entirely different side to that we saw at Middlesbrough when it is clear a catalyst for commitment was agreed behind the scenes at Swansea City. To a man every player grafted and wore the shirt with pride. To see the players really acknowledge the Swans support at Carrow Road this afternoon was emotional.

He was a revelation for the Swans for the few games he played this season, and now it emerges Sam Parker has ‘turned down’ a new Swansea City contract.
